Urban Yogi Teacher Training

Urban Yogi Teacher Training Program

With Heather Roussos

Yoga is magical and practical. It’s magic because of its theory and philosophy. It’s practical because it comes alive when we put that theory or philosophy into practice. What we’ve come to deeply understand about this practice is that it needs to be applicable to our current condition in order for it to resonate and be useful in our lives.  What we aim to do with the Urban Yogi TT  is to offer the teachings of Yoga and movement, as taught to us by our teachers, in a way that is accessible and usable in our everyday lives.

You can expect to learn the deeper meaning of practicing Yoga and the philosophy that teaches us how to bring more ease, understanding, love, and flow into our everyday life. You’ll learn not just the traditional posture practice in yoga, but also about movement that will help you create true balance and functional health in the body. You’ll study yourself, through the lens of yoga and other teachings to gain clarity in your work and direction in life.

This program is designed for the student who is willing to dive deep, be honest, get clear, learn to self-accept, self love, and embrace life as a student forever forward. If you’re interested in learning how to live with more freedom and less suffering in our current world and you’re willing to put in the work necessary to evolve, this program is for you.

At the end of this program you’ll be able to create and execute an intelligently sequenced class. You’ll have a greater understanding of the body as a whole and how it functions in order to give yourself and your future students a practice that serves the individual's greatest good, and you’ll have gained the tools that help create a life with more balance and authenticity.

In this program you will learn:

  • historical and cultural contexts of Yoga

  • the eight limbs of Yoga

  • Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras & the Bhagavad Gita
